The farm is set in the beautiful territory of the upper Maremma Toscana, 10 km from Sorano, 18 km from Pitigliano and 38 km from both the Saturnia and S. Filippo thermal baths in the Val d’Orcia Park. The Etruscans already inhabited these places, cultivated the land, and their presence on this land is still visible today.
The farm dominates the territory from a maximum altitude of 700 metres above sea level. The farm dominates the territory from a maximum altitude of 700 metres above sea level: 12 hectares are coppice woodland of oak and chestnut trees; 3 hectares are dedicated to 857 olive trees of Tuscan varieties that allow the extra virgin olive oil to be certified as Tuscan IGP; another 3000 square metres are cultivated with medicinal plants; the remaining 14 hectares are sown. The farm is totally organic. The farmhouse made of stone, bricks and tufa bricks (which man has always used to build in this area) and an old outbuilding with a wood-burning oven, are the fulcrum of the farm (at 590 metres above sea level, in a south-eastern position). The total surface area of the two floors of the main building is 500 square metres, which are used as a residence and potentially as a holiday farm. The farm annex, also made of stone, bricks and tuff, is 250 sqm with a 45 sqm brick loft that was used in the past to dry hay.
The buildings have been consolidated and renovated but further work is needed to make them habitable.
The centre of the farm is easily reached from the asphalt road by less than 1 km of gravel road. For those who do not have the requisites of an agricultural entrepreneur but are interested in maintaining the primary activity and developing related activities, we can guarantee continuity for at least another 5 years.
