“Il Borghetto”: this historic hamlet consists of three buildings of various sizes, arranged around an old wood-burning oven (still operating to date!), and surrounded by 7000 sqm of land, with olive trees, woods and lawns. Since the nineteenth century, generations of farmers have inhabited the Borghetto and the neighborhood community used to bake bread in its communal oven.

The property, set in an unspoilt hilly landscape of great beauty surrounded by nature, is located in the Sabina region, a land rich in history and ancient traditions. It is 60 km from Rome and 30 km from Rieti, the provincial capital.
The medieval village of Casaprota, which has all basic amenities (bars, post office, grocery stores, pharmacy, doctor’s surgery) is approximately 4 km away. The local area is littered with olive groves and medieval hill top villages. The protected area of the Farfa Gorge is a walk away, as well as the pretty stone villages of Montenero and Collelungo. Many scenic and historic sites are a short drive away. For instance, the Farfa Abbey, Mount Terminillo (a ski resort), the Franciscan monasteries on The St. Francis Way, the ancient churches of Santa Vittoria and San Donato, Lake Turano and the Marmore Falls.
