Description

The Tartuchino farm is surrounded by a beautiful hilly countryside, dotted with olive groves, woods and cultivated fields. It is located on top of a hill, where the view spans from the Argentario to the mountains.
In ancient times these lands were inhabited and cultivated by the Etruscans: the remains of a farm from that period were found just few meters away from Casetta Tartuchino, while the nearby woods hold an etruscan necropolis dating back to the VI century BC. Roman remains are also found near the hot springs of Saturnia, already in those times they were a popular destination.
Medieval and renaissance towns are found all around the countryside. They make for fascinating strolls though picturesque alleys and interesting architecture. They are also good shopping destinations for artisanal products and cuisine.
Over the years farmers employed by landowning families cultivated these lands which are difficult to tame: the nature here is proud, different from the softer countryside that lines the coast.

Casetta Tartuchino farm stay has a living room with a TV and a fireplace, to keep you warm when the winter days get shorter. To ensure all the guests have a peaceful stay, the use of the kitchen is reserved for the groups that rent the entire house.
Outside, there is a patio overlooking the surrounding hills, where you can relax or have your meals using the grill in the garden. From tthe “belvedere” you can conteplate the view. The changing colours of the sky and fields around the house are enchanting.
In the summer you can enjoy a refeshing swim in the private pool of the Tartuchino Farm. It is found on top of a small hill and surrounded by a pleasant view.

We produce excellent Tuscan extra virgin oil (IGP) and have built a solar power farm in a secluded field. We also joined a project for the reproduction of the Olivone di Fibbianello, which is a centenary olive tree that has come to be a symbol of this area. Some small olive trees, children of the Olivone, are right in front of Casetta Tartuchino.

Prices for a warm farm stay vacation:
Casetta Tartuchino has four double bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom and shower. We can add a bed for a child under 12 years of age in each room.
We are happy if you bring along your pet.
Prices include breakfast, WIFI, air conditioning and the use of the pool during summer.
Pool opening times: 09.00-14.00 – 16.00-19.00

Prices for each room, breakfast included:
Low season (November-March except holidays): € 60.00 per night, € 335,00 per week
Mid season (April-June, September-October, except holidays): € 70.00 per night, € 392.00 per week
High season (July, August , Easter, Christmas and other holidays): € 80,00 per night, € 448,00 per week.

Rooms for single use have a 10 € discount.
It is possible to add a bed for children under 12 years, at a cost of €15.00 per night. Children under 3 years do not pay.
From the third night onwards, we offer a discount.

Sometimes, depending on length and the period of stay we require a deposit (40% of the total cost of the stay). The cancellation conditions are:
if you cancel up to 10 days prior the date of arrival, we refund 100% of the deposit;
if you cancel 9 to 4 days prior to arrival, we refund 50% of the deposit;
if you cancel 3 days prior to arrival, fail to show up or depart early, the deposit will be withheld.
For long stays we ask a deposit of 35% which will be completely refunded if you cancel your booking 15 days prior to arrival, and will be retained otherwise.
It ‘s also possible to rent the entire Casetta Tartuchino (8 people + 4 children under 12 years old)

From the third night onwards, we offer a discount. Instead, if you book for a whole week, the seventh night is free.
The cost will be:
Low season (November-March except holidays): € 240.00 per night, € 1344.00 per week
Mid season(April-June, September-October, except holidays): € 280.00 per night, € 1568.00 per week
High season (July, August , Easter, Christmas and other holidays): € 320.00 per night, €1802.00 per week

A vacation here is relaxing. It is possible to notice a change in atmosphere already as you leave the city behind you, and make your way through the winding road that leads to Casetta Tartuchino. Driving past the woods and fields of the area helps change one’s life rhythm and thoughts.
It is wonderful to enjoy the peace of the garden, relaxing and looking up from time to time to gaze at the view.
You can explore the surroundings, walk the forest trails and maybe meet the maremma wildlife. It is often possible to encounter hares, foxes, badgers, roe deer, wild boar and many bird species. Wolves are also present in the area, although spotting them is extremely rare. For those who enjoy hiking, there are excellent guides that can show you through some of the area’s best itineraries.
The surrounding towns are another pleasant destination. Here, haste is frowned upon and it is possible to walk around in peace, slowly taking in the atmosphere and architecture.
Those who like Etruscan history can admire the many fascinating remains of this civilization, nestled among woods and fields, they are places of great charm and spirituality. In these Etruscan sites you may even have the chance to be the only visitors, which makes for a truly memorable experience.
Those who love the hot springs can enjoy the proximity of Saturnia, with its thermal pools and natural waterfalls. There, you can have a relaxing bath even at night or during winter.

We suggest you try the Tuscan countryside food: we are confident that you will appreciate it both in its traditional form and in its more refined form when prepared by creative chefs.
